The Local Hiker
Established in October of 2013, The Local Hiker is a locally owned business on the east end of Main Street in downtown Spartanburg, South Carolina. Our purpose here in the upstate is to educate, encourage and equip those looking to get in the outdoors. We want to ensure everyone has a great experience whether they're hiking, biking, climbing, camping or even surfing and the appropriate equipment is step one. We have it all from sunscreen to sleeping bags and everything in between. Paired with a knowledgeable and friendly staff that will provide the proper guidance, you can rest assured your business is safe here at The Local Hiker.
Appalachian Trail Workshop
Our very own seasoned outdoorsman, Coleman Hockett, will be holding an informational class on the AT right here in the shop. If you are interested in hiking the trail and have questions this is a great opportunity. If you have hiked the trail before, we would also love for you to come and give your own insight!
