About the Event
This route begins by following Sam Knob Trail up to the summit where beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The trail then connects to Flat Laurel Creek Trail which boasts peaceful forest scenes with many campsites along the way for those who wish to camp beneath the stars. This is a gentle-rolling hike through a shaded forest which is great for escaping the summer heat. Pack your snacks and a light lunch. Don't forget your boots and appropriate layers with your extra water! This is a hike to always keep in your back pocket to take your friends. with a little more than 800 ft or elevation gain and a distance of almost 4.5 miles its moderate hike status is just that! Challenging but not intimidating!
